Program Education objectives (PEOs)
PEO1: Mechanical Engineering graduates should have a comprehensive fundamental knowledge of physical sciences, mathematics and foundations of Mechanical Engineering subjects to be able to solve application level problems related to core Mechanical Engineering and interdisciplinary areas.
PEO2:. Graduates should have a deep working knowledge of technical fundamentals and skills in the areas related to mechanical engineering design, thermal engineering, material science and manufacturing science to address the needs of the customer and society.
PEO3: Graduates should have the communication skills, professional personality and ethical values that will mould them into a good human beings, responsible citizens and competent professionals.
PEO4: Graduates should have engaged in lifelong learning and professional development through self-study, continuing education or graduate professional studies in engineering.
PO1: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO2: Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO3: Design development of Solution: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO4: Conduct Investigations of Compels Problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO5: Moderate tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
